Economic Restructuring Committee

The Economic Restructuring Committee is charged with strengthening the existing economic assets while expanding and diversifying its economic base. The ER Committee is working to develop a market strategy for the community that will result in an improved retail mix, a stronger tax base, increased investor confidence and a strong, stable role for the downtown as a major component of the community’s economic health.

The ER Committee was instrumental in the creation of the following:

  • Revitalization District – Encouraged City Council to adopt for creation of additional liquor permits in downtown
  • Growing and Starting a Business in PC Booklet – completed in 2011 and updated annually

The Economic Restructuring Committee is busy working on a number of projects:

  • Special Improvement District
  • Attend downtown ribbon cuttings to show support.

The Economic Restructuring Committee could be composed of City Council members, officers of financial institutions, Realtor and Chamber of Commerce Board members or staff, as well as merchants, property owners, attorneys and business teachers.
